DHAKA: The three-day 5th Asian Tourism Fair (ATF, Dhaka) is scheduled to be held at International Convention City, Bashundhara (ICCB) in the capital city of Bangladesh from September 29 to mark the Tourism Year and World Tourism Day (September 27).
More than hundred hotel, motel and resorts, tour operator, travel shop and other tourism related organizations would take part in the fair.
Editor of monthly ‘Parjatan Bichitra’, a tourism magazine, and ATF convener Mohiuddin Helal disclosed the matter while addressing a press conference at VIP Lounge of National Press Club around 11:00am on Monday.
Parjatan Bichitra will organize the fair with the assistance of Parjatan Corporation and Tourism Board.
He further said community based tourism show, seminars, children’s art competition – Beautiful Bangladesh and discussion on youth and adventure tourism to attract youth of the country will be organized in the fair.
Besides, Parjatan Corporation Chairman Dr. Arup Chowdhury, tourism board chief executive officer Akhteruzzaman Khan Kabir, tourism resort association president Khabir Uddin Ahmed, tour operator association president Taufiq Uddin Ahmed, tourism developers association of Bangladesh chairman Jamiul Ahmed and Inbound Tour Association of Bangladesh president Rezaul Ekram also addressed the conference.
Tourism minister Rashed Khan Menon is expected to inaugurate the fair at ICCB around 11:00am on September 29.
The fair will remain open from 10:00am to 8:00pm.
