DHAKA: Freedom fighters formed a human chain in Chittagong Sunday to press their demand for immediate trial of the war criminals.

Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad Chittagong sadar unit organised the programme in front of Chittagong Press Club. The freedom fighter also held a rally.

The freedom fighters at the rally urged the government to accelerate the trial process of the war criminals for their crimes against humanity during the country's Liberation War in 1971. They also vowed to work together against the conspiracy being hatched to bring the war criminals in the trial.

former minister and Awami League MP Engineer Mosharraf Hossain was the chief guest att he rally chaired by the Chittagong unit Convener Shahabuddin.

Engineer Mosharraf in his speech said, "We are committed to completing the trial of the war criminals. It is not for harassing anyone of the opposition but for punishing the Bangladeshi collaborators of Pakistani forces during the war of liberation."

Freedom fighters Tofael Ahmed, Captain Eanmul Haque and Upazila Chairman Giasuddin also spoke at the rally.
