Faridpur: A reckless truck killed a banker and severely injured one of his colleagues in front of the town’s Payra Chattar early Wednesday morning.

Islami bank officer Faridul Haque, 36, died on the spot and senior principal officer of the same bank Shajahan Molla suffered critical injuries, witnesses said.

Passers-by rushed the injured to Faridpur medical college hospital in critical condition.

The speedy truck ran over them while on their way home by a motorcycle. The truck driver fled the scene after the accident.

The deceased hailed from Chardaulat Khan of Kalkini thana in Madaripur.
