Dhaka: An annual art exhibition began Thursday at Fine Arts Institute of Dhaka University to encourage young artists to pursue creative artwork.
The faculty of Fine Arts of the university has organized the exhibition on its premises, with a total of 300 artworks, including paintings and sculptures done by the young artists of different years and departments of the faculty, put on display.
Prof AAMS Arefin Siddique, Vice-cancellor of the university, inaugurated the show as chief guest while Rafiq-un-Nabi, Dean of the faculty, was in the chair.
Professor Siddique said acquiring the skills of art is a natural learning process.
“If we look at the artworks before the establishment of the art institutions, we get many quality artworks that surpass the modern age,” he told the inaugural function.
The exhibition will remain open for the viewers from 11:00am to 7:00pm till May 31.
