Dhaka: A street child fell down to death from a mango tree in front of the chief justice’s bungalow at Kakrail crossroads on Thursday morning, police said.
The deceased was identified as Monir Hossain, son of Ahmed Hossain of Anandonagar slums in Badda area of the city.
Witnesses said Monir climbed a mango tree in front of the chief justice’s residence boundary at 8:30 am for plucking mango. After fell down accidentally, some passers-by rescued him in critical condition and rushed him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where the duty doctor declared him dead.
While identifying the body in the morgue, his brother Shakil said Monir went out of home at 7:30am. “Why he climbed up the tree we don’t know,” he said.
