The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) today claimed to have found evidence of graft allegations against former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Benazir Ahmed, his wife and children in a primary investigation.
ACC Secretary Khorsheda Yasmeen told reporters during a press conference held at the commission’s Segunbagicha headquarters in Dhaka this noon.
The commission has also found evidence of more moveable and immovable assets, both in the country and abroad, registered under their [Banazir and family members] names, she said during the press conference.
The anti-corruption watchdog also issued a notice seeking information on the assets they accumulated through illegal means, said the government official.
She said the commission asked the investigating officers to submit the statement of Benazir's movable and immovable assets within the next 21 working days.
