Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today (July 17) predicted light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at a few places over four divisions and at one or two places over other four divisions with moderately heavy falls at places over four divisions.
According to the BMD bulletin, light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at a few places over Rangpur, Mymensingh, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna and Barishal divisions with moderately heavy falls at places over Rangpur, Mymensingh, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions.
The low pressure area over South Odisha and adjoining area persists. The axis of monsoon troughs runs through Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, the center of the low, Gangetic West Bengal to Assam across southern part of Bangladesh.
Monsoon is less active over Bangladesh and moderate over North Bay.
Day temperature may rise slightly and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
Country's maximum temperature on Tuesday was recorded 35.6 degree Celsius at Chuadanga and minimum temperature today was recorded 26.0 degree Celsius jointly at Bandarban and Teknaf.
Maximum rainfall for the last twenty-four hour till 6am today was recorded 15 millimeters (mm) at Faridpur.
