At least 33 people were killed and many injured as clashes took place in different areas in Dhaka and other parts of Bangladesh on the first day of the non-cooperation movement announced by the Anti-Discrimination Students Movement.
3 killed in Pabna
Amid the turmoil situation in Pabna district, witnesses alleged that Awami League and Jubo League men have conducted crack down on the protesters in which at least three people were killed and 35 people were injured.
2 killed in Munshiganj
Two people were shot dead in Munshiganj as there was a clash between Awami League, Chhatra League and Jubo League leaders and activists with students.
In this incident more than 50 people were injured.
2 killed in Bogura
Munirul Islam, 34, among two was killed as he was shot to his head by the police.
2 Killed in Rangpur
Two people were killed and at least 10 injured as Awami League leaders and activists locked in the clash between the agitators in Rangpur.
One killed in Barishal
Tutul Chowdhury, the former president of ward number 12 of Barisal metropolis, was hacked and beaten to death on Sunday (August 4) afternoon.
4 killed in Magura
Mehdi Hasan Rabbi, joint secretary of Magura Chhatra Dal among four was killed in a clash between the leaders and workers of BNP and other poltical organizations with the police on Dhaka Road in Magura city.
7 killed in Sirajganj
At least seven people were killed in a clash between protesters, Awami League leaders and activists in Sirajganj.
6 killed in Feni
At least six people were killed and more than 50 injured in Feni as Awami League leaders and activists locked into a clash with the protestors.
2 killed in Dhaka
Two people were killed in the clash between activists of the Awami League and its affiliated organizations with the agitators in Dhaka and at Ashulia in Savar.
One killed in Cumilla
A youth was killed and 15 others injured in a clash brole at Devidwar in the district. The incident took place in front of Devidwar Azgar Ali Girls High School at 1.30 pm.
One killed in Kishoreganj
One person was killed in the clash between Awami League and Chhatra League leaders and activists in Kishoreganj.
The clash took place in the station road area of Kishoreganj district town on Sunday afternoon.
2 killed in Sylhet
Two people were killed and several injured in firing during the clash in Golapganj of Sylhet.
The incident took place in front of Upazila Health Complex in Dharabahre of Golapganj Municipal area on Sunday (August 4) around 2 pm.
Rejecting Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s call for talks to resolve the ongoing stalemate, the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement announced an all-out non-cooperation movement starting on Sunday, demanding the government's resignation.
Since the morning, protesters have clashed with police and ruling party supporters in Dhaka, Chattogram, Sylhet, and various parts of the country, resulting in the deaths of at least 33 people.
