A cargo vessel from Karachi, Pakistan, has arrived directly at Chattogram Port in Bangladesh, establishing the first-ever direct maritime link between the two countries.
This new shipping route is expected to greatly improve supply chain efficiency and reduce transit times for goods between Pakistan and Bangladesh.
The vessel, carrying a wide range of goods with an estimated capacity of 2,300 TEUs, underscores the increasing demand for direct trade connections.
Pakistan’s High Commissioner to Bangladesh, Syed Ahmed Maroof in this regard hailed the route as a significant milestone for bilateral trade, emphasizing that it will strengthen business ties and foster a more integrated trade network in the region.
He noted that the initiative will not only speed up current trade flows but also open new avenues for businesses in countries, benefiting small traders as well as major exporters.
