The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has requested the Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) to provide records of all domestic and international transactions related to former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, and her family members.
Her family members include her son Sajeeb Ahmed Wazed Joy, her younger sister Sheikh Rehana, and her niece, British MP Tulip Siddiq.
A letter in this regard was sent on Tuesday (December 24), where the ACC investigation team sought detailed financial information about Sheikh Haisna and her family members.
Besides, personal records of the individuals have been requested from the Election Commission and the Department of Immigration and Passports.
According to sources, the ACC has launched a probe into allegations of corruption involving BDT 80,000 crore in nine projects, including the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant and Special Ashrayan Projects, between 2009 and 2023.
The ACC is also investigating a separate allegation of laundering USD 300 million against Sheikh Hasina and Sajeeb Ahmed Wazed Joy.
