Dhaka: A two-day Bangladesh Food Security Conference begins here tomorrow (Wednesday) to work out a coordinated investment plan for food security and increased investments for agricultural development.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the conference, organized by an investment forum.
The conference will focus on six issues, including increase in food-grain production, encouraging investment in climate change-compatible sectors, developing fisheries and livestock sector, and ensuring food and nutrition security.
Food Minister Dr Abdur Razzak Tuesday briefed newsmen about the meet at the Press Information Department conference hall.
The minister said, “The food-security issue would also be discussed at the coming G-8 meeting in Canada in June and Asia Food Security Investment Forum in the Philippines in July.
