KUSHTIA:  Two suspected kidnappers were killed in mob beatings and another was held with bomb and explosive materials from Poradaho Hat of the district Sunday.

One of the deceased was identified as Samir Uddin, 38, while the identity of the other could not be known immediately.

Police identified the arrested one as Shariful Sheikh, 25, and confirmed that all the three were the members of outlawed outfit JSD Ganobahini.

Police sources said that the gang tried to kidnap two brothers - Mir Mirajul Islam Hitu, 27, and Motiul Haque Titu, 29,--on their way home at village Aliachara from Poradaha Hat at around 12 midnight.

But local people chased them as they fled. Later, police came and held suspected kidnapper Shariful Islam with bomb and explosives with the help of the locals.

During a drive at night, local people caught two of the gang members and rescued the brothers. An angry mob beat the kidnappers to death.

Kushtia police super Shabuddin Khan told banglanews24.com.bd that the kidnappers were activists of the banned extremist group locally known as JSD Ganobahini.

Police said the bodies were sent to Kushtia General Hospital for autopsy.
