PM`s daughter calls for help kids with special needs

DHAKA: Prime Minister`s daughter and Bangladesh Country Representative of ‘Autism Speaks’ Saima Wajed Hossain Monday visited “PROYASH” a specialized institute for children with special needs.

She asked all to come forward to help children with autism and intellectual disorders.

During a meeting with the teachers and parents of the institution, she calls for social awareness for the special children.

Saima, also the member of National Association of School Psychologist USA, was received by Begum Shaheen Siddique, spouse of the Defense Adviser to the PM, Begum Syeda Sharifa Mubeen, Chief Patron and spouse of the Chief of Army Staff, Begum Shabnam Ahmed, spouse of the Chief of Naval Staff, Begum Shamima Zia, spouse of the Chief of Air Staff, Chairman of the institution Brigadier General Md Shahrafat Hossain, Principal Lt Col Md Fakrul Ahsan and other members.

Saima Wajed took keen interest and visited the overall activities of the institution.

She also visited the children’s classroom and spent sometimes with them.

Proyash started its journey on July 18, 2006. Since 2009, the children of the civil person have been enrolled. At present out of 159 students, 43% are from civil society.
