RANGAMATI: Security personnel held three members of the rebel group of Parbatya Chattagram Jana Sanghati Samity (PCJSS) from Karalyachhari area in Langadu upazila on Tuesday morning, a day after the arrest of four leaders-activists of two associate organizations of UPDF.
Officer-in-charge of Langadu police station Mohammad Belayet Hossain told banglanews24.com.bd, “On information, army members raided Karalyachhari area and held them at about 4am.”
The arrested persons are Kalabaran Chakma, Nayan Chakma and Gyan Chakma.
A rifle, eight cartridges, Tk 1 lakh in cash, money-receipt book, mobile-phone sets and a radio were recovered from them during the raid, said police.
They were handed over to Langadu police station.
Four leaders and activists of Pahari Chhatra Parishad and Hill Women’s Federation, two associate organizations of the United People’s Democratic Front (UPDF), were arrested from Naniarchar upazila on Sunday night with two firearms.
