PM to attend 65th UNGA on Sept 18

DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will leave for New York on September 18 to attend the 65th General Assembly of the United Nations, a Foreign Ministry spokesman said.

“Prime Minister will leave Dhaka on September 18 with an around 80-member delegation of government officials and eminent personalities,” the spokesperson said.

She will attend the high-level plenary meeting of the 65th Session of the UNGA, which will be held from 20-22 September. She will attend a high-level meeting on biodiversity on 22 September and attend general debate of the assembly.

The session will open on September 14.

The Plenary meeting will focus on accelerating progress towards the achievement of all the Millennium Development Goals by 2015.

On the sideline, Hasina will meet with a number of foreign head of states.

The PM will return Dhaka on September 29.
