BARISAL: A pall of gloom descended on a family whose three babies died on Wednesday night after they were injected measles vaccine.
The deceased, each aged about 10 months, were Ritom, son of Alil Kulu, Trisha, daughter of Pancham Kulu, and Toma, daughter of Prafulla Dhali, of Kaliapur village.
Family members alleged that the deaths occurred for injecting “spoiled vaccine”. Civil surgeon Dr Anil Chandra Dutta denied the allegation.
“A six-member investigation committee has been formed with deputy civil surgeon Abdus Sattar as the chief. The committee will publish its report within a week,” Anil told banglanews24.com.bd Thursday.
Hijla police said that the bodies were sent to Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
