CHITTAGONG: A rashly driven bus rammed an auto-rickshaw and then crashed into roadside trees in Patiya upazila on Saturday noon, leaving four people dead and 10 wounded.

Two of the deceased, who were on the CNG-run auto, were identified as Jahida Aktar, 35, and her four-year-old daughter Sanu.

Identities of another two dead, who were passengers of the bus, could not be known immediately.

Officer-in-Charge of Patiya thana Emtiaz Ahmed said an Anwara-bound passenger bus rammed a Chittagong-bound CNG-scooter on the Chittagong-Cox’s Bazar road at around 1:30pm.

“The bus then crashed into roadside trees while the CNG-taxi tumbled down, leaving four dead on the spot,” says a spot account of the terrible accident.

The injured were rushed to Chittagong Medical College Hospital.
