DHAKA: The Home Ministry formed a monitoring cell to ensure public security across the country ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr, as the biggest Muslim festival is now close by.
“The monitoring cell would work to stop mugging, extortion, robbery and the black-marketing of tickets,” says the ministry’s office order issued Monday.
It also ordered opening a control room at the police headquarters to assist the cell in monitoring the situation and forestall such crimes.
The six-member monitoring cell will be headed by home ministry`s additional secretary Iqbal Khan Chowdhury.
