Shikalbaba Peaking Power Plant shuts down

CHITTAGONG: The newly commissioned Shikalbaha Peaking Power Plant tripped just four hours after it was inaugurated by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Wednesday.

Milon Kanti Das, manager of the power station, said, "The plant was shut down for gas shortage."

He hoped that the operation of the plant would be resumed on Thursday morning.

Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina formally inaugurated the 150-megawatt Shikalbaha Peaking Power Plant at 10am.
