DHAKA: Eid-ul-Fitr, the biggest religious festival of the Muslims, will be celebrated across the country Friday if the Shawal moon is sighted on Thursday evening.
If the moon is not sighted Thursday, the Eid will be celebrated Saturday after full 30 days of fasting in the lunar month of Ramadan.
The National Moon-sighting Committee will sit on Thursday evening to set the date for Eid-ul-Fitr.
State minister for religious affairs Mohammad Shahjahan Miah will preside over the meeting at the Islamic Foundation.
