PM seeks assistance in building poverty-free Bangladesh

DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Saturday sought assistance from all sections of people in building up a ‘poverty-free Digital Golden Bangla’ to materialize the dream of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

She made the plea at a post-eid greetings programme at Ganabhaban with Cabinet members, Members of Parliament, foreign diplomats, leaders-activists of Awami League and people from all walks of life.

Thousands of people of different ages, genders and social status exchanged greetings with the premier on the occasion of Eid-ul Fitr festival.

The premier entertained the guests with sweets and fruits.

She also exchanged greetings with a huge number of disabled women and children, including expatriate Bangladeshis.

The Prime Minister in her speech during the greetings also said the prices of essentials were reasonable during the month of Ramadan.

She also claimed that the law-and-order situation was satisfactory and the people of the country were able to go shopping till midnight before Eid.

Sheikh Hasina thanked the law enforcers for helping to maintain law and order.

“The government is working heart and soul for the economic development of the people of the country. We are working hard to reach our goal,” she told her audience.
