RAJSHAHI: Amid a flurry of fearsome foreboding about earthquake, triggered by a recent chain of tremors in different parts of the country, another quake was now felt in some areas of the metropolitan city Tuesday.
The trembler, a milder one though in the current spell, was felt at around 5:4pm, some residents said.
There were no reports of damage done by the five-second tremor.
But it created apprehension among common people over the sequel of recently occurring tremors in different parts of the country.
An official of weather department in Rajshahi said, “We do not know anything about the matter.”
Weather official of Dhaka office Mahmudul Hasan said they also did not know anything about any tremor.
“We are not informed regarding this by the Rajshahi office,” he said.
Earlier, earthquake shook different parts of the country on September 11 just hours after two moderate tremors rattled central Bangladesh on September 10 at midnight.
