14 nabbed at Benapole border

BENAPOLE, JESSORE:  Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) detained 14 people from Putkhali border area at Benapole land port in the district on Tuesday night.

The detainees hailed from Jessore, Narail, Gopalganj, Kushtia and Chittagong districts of the country.

Khulna-23 BGB battalion Commanding Officer Lieutenant Colonel Taif-ul-Haque said, “A team of BGB conducted drive in Putkhali border area at around 10:30am and picked up 14 people while they were trying to trespass through border area.”

They were handed over to the port police station.

In separate drive, BGB members recovered 8, 400 pieces of   sedative tablets in the area but none was held in this connection.
