‘Fraternal ties with BD progressed over years’

DHAKA: Speaker of the National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq on Wednesday said the bilateral relations between Pakistan and Bangladesh would remain warm and very special since both the countries shared common religion, culture and history.  

During a meeting with Bangladesh’s High Commissioner in Pakistan Suhrab Hossain in the Parliament House, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq said that the Pakistani leadership desired to reinvigorate the existing bilateral ties between the two countries.
 
He also said that the fraternal relations between two sides had progressed over the years as they were closely cooperating at the regional and international level with the aim of promoting peace and stability and well-being of the people of the region.

The Speaker stressed for enhancing present relationship of the two countries to a genuinely meaningful level through parliamentary cooperation, people-to-people contacts and ties between business communities of both the countries. He invited his Bangladesh counterpart to visit Pakistan for which a formal invitation will be sent through diplomatic channels.

Suhrab Hossain, High Commissioner of Bangladesh, acknowledged the sentiments of the Speaker and said that his government also attached immense importance to its relations with Pakistan and wanted to further cement them through cooperation in diverse fields.

He also said that opportunities and potential for mutual cooperation between two brotherly countries were immense and very promising; therefore, Bangladeshi investors were keen to benefit from it.

The High Commissioner also congratulated the Speaker for his election to the coveted post and smooth transition of power in the country.
