India returns BD man’s body

SATKHIRA: India returned the body of a Bangladesh national on Wednesday night after four days of his death by electrocution.

The victim was identified as Babar Ali, son of Mojid Ali of Ashashuni upazila of Satkhira district.

He was electrocuted in India four days ago while he was returning home from India on August 25.

Satkhira Sadar police station Sub-Inspector Delwar Hossain received his body from Indian police at around 12:00am.

Officials of India Police, Border Security Force of India and Border Guard Bangladesh were also present during the time.

Later, the body was handed over to the victim’s family members.

BGB sources said earlier they had a flag meeting with BSF in this connection on Sunday.

Satkhira-38 Bangladesh Boarder Guard (BGB) Operation Officer Major Anwarul Mazhar confirmed the matter to banglanews.
