ACC sues BTCL MD among 22

DHAKA: Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) filed four cases against 22 people, including Managing Director of  Bangladesh Telecommunications Company Limited (BTCL), SOM Kalimullah on charge of embezzlement of Tk 610 crore.

Confirming the matter to banglanews, ACC deputy direction SM Sahidur Rahman said that the cases were filed with Banani Thana in the capital Thursday.

The accused are former BTCL MD Khabiruzzamn, Afsarul Alam and Dr Abu Sayeed Khan, ADE Runel Chakma, Badiul Alam, DE Habibur Rhaman Pramanik, GM (OTR) Anwarul Mamun and former engineer Mohammad Toufiq, and Ericsson Bangladesh contract manager Asif Jahid, Customer Relation Manager Nazrul Islam and Engineer Masrurul Hakim.

ACC alleged that the accused persons had deleted the record of thousands of VoIP calls.
