DHAKA: Food Minister Abdur Razzak Sunday asserted that the country would not see Monga anymore during the rule of the incumbent government.
“The proposed budget was formulated giving priority to addressing the seasonal vulnerability like Monga,” the minister said at a discussion as the chief guest.
Economic Reporters Forum organised the discussion at the National Press Club.
Underlining the need for unlocking the untapped potential of the farm sector, the food minister forecast that country’s GDP growth would reach 7 percent if the contribution of agriculture is enhanced.
