DHAKA: Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Rakib Uddin Ahmed on Sunday urged the two main political parties—BNP and Awami League--to reach consensus for the greater sake of democracy of the country.
The chief election commissioner came up with the plea while talking to journalists at election commission secretariat after a meeting.
He said, “The countrymen want peaceful election. Nobody wants violence. So, I urged all to make a consensus for the greater interest of the country.
Kazi Rakib also requested the political parties of the country to take part in the next general elections.
