PM set to visit Madaripur at noon

MADARIPUR: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, also president of ruling Awami League, is set to visit the district on Tuesday to inaugurate and lay foundation stone of 18 development projects including the connecting road of Padma Bridge.

Centering the PM’s visit, the whole area has been covered under security curtain.

Party sources said the Prime Minister is expected to arrive at Madborchar of Shibchar Upazila at around 12:30pm where she will inaugurate the construction work of 4-lane connecting road of Padma Bridge, by government’s own finance of Tk 1,100 crore.

During the time, the Premier also will inaugurate 10 development projects and lay foundation stone of seven. Later, she will address a rally here.

Local district administration said that they have taken a seven-tier of security measures for the Prime Minister which includes DGFI, RAB and SSF personnel along with local police.
