DHAKA: The BNP-led 18-party alliance will stage countrywide rallies on Saturday demanding immediate release of leaders-activists including four central leaders.
BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir announced the programme at chairperson’s Gulshan office after a meeting with leaders of the 18-party alliance on Wednesday night.
He said the rallies will be held in all cities, district towns and upazila headquarters allover the country demanding immediate release of arrested leaders and activist of the alliance.
Earlier on Friday, police arrested BNP standing committee members Barrister Moudud Ahmed, barrister Rafiqul Islam Mia, MK Anwar, BNP chairperson’s adviser Abdul Awal Mintoo and her personal assistant Advocate Shimul Biswas.
