DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina categorically said ministers can continue their office until the resignation letters are accepted by the President.
The premier came up with the assertion while inaugurating Bijoy Ekattor, the newly built student dormitory of Dhaka University on Thursday morning.
Sheikh Hasina said that the ministers submitted their resignation letters but the President is yet to accept the letters so they can continue their work as ministers.
The Prime Minister inaugurated the newly made residential hall ‘Bijoy Ekattor’ in Dhaka University. The eleven storied hall for students is the largest one in country’s educational institutions where one thousands students can accommodate.
Later, the premier also laid foundation stone of Shaheed Abul Khayer Bhaban for young teachers, MBA Bhaban (Eastern wing), Bangabandhu tower for fourth class staffs and residential building for senior teachers.
Meanwhile, Dhaka University vice-chancellor AAMS Arefin Siddique, Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid, University Grant Commission Chairman professor Dr AK Azad Chowdhury and others were present in the inaugural ceremony.
