DHAKA: The 18-party alliance delegation reached at Bangabhaban to meet President M Abdul Hamid on Tuesday evening for requesting him to take steps for formation of non-party government to oversee the next polls.
The 20-member delegation led by BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia arrived at the residence of the President around 6:15pm.
The members of the delegation include BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, standing committee members RA Gani, Barrister Jamir Uddin Sircar, Dr Moyeen Khan, Mirza Abbas, ASM Hannan Shah, Nazrul Islam Khan, Gayeshwar Chandra Roy and Shamsher Mobin Chowdhury.
The other party members include M Shamsul Islam and Hamidur Rahman Azad of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Colonel (retd) Oli Ahmed of LDP, Andalib Rahman Partha of Jatiya Party, Islami Oikya Jote Chairman Abdul Latif Nezami, JAGPA president Shafiul Alam Pradhan and Ibrahim of Kalyan Party.
On Monday afternoon, Khaleda Zia sought the appointment of the President.
BNP sources said Khaleda will apprise the President about their stance and deep concern over the present political situation after the formation of the polls-time cabinet.
