DHAKA: Opposition BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Wednesday categorically said they would not take part polls under the new cabinet as it is not polls-time government rather the reformation of the previous cabinet.
The spokesperson for the party came up with the observation while addressing a programme organized by Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal marking the 49th birthday of party’s Senior Vice-Chairman Tarique Rahman
He said, “The newly formed cabinet members are from the ruling Awami League and its allies. So, how it is possible to entitle the cabinet of all-party. We will not hold any election under the cabinet or such wicked procedures.”
Terming BNP as a party for peaceful democracy Fakhrul said, “We want election in a peaceful manner under non-partisan government but the government created the bar by amending constitution.”
Mirza Fakhrul also urged the leaders and activists of the party to keep alert about any conspiracy against the country.
