Protest after poll schedule

DHAKA: Terming the all-party polls-time interim government as ‘new grand alliance government’ and elections under them as ‘farcical’, Bikalpa Dhara Bangladesh said they would come down on roads with their own agenda.

Bikalpa Dhara Bangladesh joint secretary general of Mahi B Chowdhury came up with the announcement after a meeting with BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia Sunday night.

In reply of a question Mahi B Chowhury said, “The government made a so-called interim government which is grand alliance government, not an all-party government.”

He also said, “We talked to other parties including Gono Forum, Krishak Sramik Janata League and JSD. They also won’t join in the elections under the incumbent government.”
