DHAKA: The Election Commission (EC) announced the 10th parliamentary election schedule on Monday evening amid boycotting of BNP-led 18-party alliance in the all-party government.

As per the election schedule, the polls will be held on January 5.

Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Rakibuddin Ahmed announced the election schedule while addressing the nation on Monday evening.

According the schedule, the last date for submitting nomination is December 2 while the scrutiny for the lawmaker post will be held on December 6 and the deadline for withdrawal of candidature is December 13.

The national parliament consists of 300 general constituencies and 50 reserved seats for women.
