DHAKA: Opposition BNP-led 18-party alliance called 48-hour blockade across the country from Tuesday 6:00am to Thursday 6:00pm.

Acting secretary of opposition BNP Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir made the announcement at a press conference on Monday night immediate after chief election commissioner (CEC) Kazi Rakibuddin Ahmed announced the election schedule.

The spokesperson for the party also said the opposition parties rejected the polls schedule and asked to postpone it soon for the sake of competitive elections.

Mirza Fakhrul Islam also told the journalists that they would announce tougher movement programmes later.

Meanwhile, the grass roots level leaders and activists have already taken all out preparations to make the movement programme a success.
