DHAKA: Supporters of BNP-led 18-party alliance started blasting cocktails across the country, including Dhaka city, immediately after the announcement of the 10th parliamentary election schedule on Monday evening.

Sources said some miscreants blasted cocktails at a police vehicle front of BNP Nayapaltan office, leaving one police constable and a journalist injured.

Earlier in the day, miscreants blasted two cocktails at the same place and injured one private car driver.

Besides, miscreants blasted 10-12 cocktails at Badda link road around 8:30pm, four cocktails at Chhatra League’s joyous procession at Basabo and 3-4 cocktails at Hatirpul.

The 18-party supporters also torched several vehicles at Mirpur, Bangsal, Jatrabari and Abdullapur.

Apart from this, the miscreants torched a police van in from Farmgate police box in the city.
