25 hurt, 26 held in N’ganj

NARAYANGANJ: At least 25 people were injured, 10 by byllets in a clash between BNP activists and police during the second day of nonstop 48-hour blockade called by 18-party alliance on Wednesday.

Witnesses said that blockade supporters put blockade on Dhaka-Chittagong highway in Meghna Ghat area of Sonargaon Upazila at around 6:30am and vandalized 10-12 vehicles.

Later, on information police rushed to the spot and fired tear shell and rubber bullets to bring the situation under control, leaving 25 people injured.

Sonargaon Thana Officer-in-Charge Atikur Rahman confirming the matter to banglanews.

Besides, police in held 26 people for pickting from various spots of the metropolitan.
