DHAKA: Blaming opposition BNP and Jamaat for the deaths in the past two days, Sajib Wajed Joy, son of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said those responsible should be arrested and brought to justice.
He also said the main opposition BNP refrained from joining dialogue on polls-time government despite repeated invitations from the government.
He made the observation in his latest facebook status at 12:30pm Thursday.
The post reads as bellow:
We have repeatedly invited the BNP to sit for dialogue. We offered a big concession in proposing an all party elected interim government. We have offered the BNP to take any ministries they want in this interim government.
Talks have been going off and on with the BNP. However, as expected they have resorted to their usual habit of lying. Privately they keep telling us they want to participate in the elections. Publicly they resort to violence.
This is the character of the BNP. They lie, rig elections every time they are in power and kill people. Once again in the name of protests they have undertaken bomb, cocktail and arson attacks on people.
They have been targeting our activists and leaders throughout the country. Our activists have been murdered, their tendons cut and many other atrocities. These aren`t protests. This is murder.
This has to stop. All BNP-Jamaat leaders responsible for the deaths in the past two days should be arrested and brought to justice. Our elections and democracy will not be held hostage to liars, terrorists and war criminals.
