Sheikh Hasina acts arrogantly: BNP Salah Uddin Ahmed

DHAKA: Opposition BNP joint secretary general Salah Uddin Ahmed on Sunday alleged that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is acting arrogantly sitting on power.

The spokesperson for the party came up with the allegation in a statement issued in the evening while 18-party 72-hour countrywide blockade was underway.

Salah Uddin said, “The nation is passing a transition period. A person has grabbed all the departments. And as a result, state anarchy has become essential.”

“Incumbent Awami League government has declared war against people and the party is characterized with mass killing, mass arrest, case and torture,” he said.

He also said that Sheikh Hasina had become ferocious to suppress opposition party as she wanted to establish one-party reign in the country.

In the statement, he mentioned that from Saturday evening to Sunday evening, a BNP man was killed, three hundreds sustained bullet injuries, four hundreds injured, 250 people were arrested and over 2,000 leaders and activists were sued.

The statement also read that 70 Jamaat men were arrested, 44 received bullet injuries and 130 other were injured critically.
