DHAKA: At least 10 people were injured in a clash between law enforcers and activists of Jamaat-e-Islami and Chhatra Shibir in city’s Jatrabari area on Tuesday, the fourth day of 131-hour blockade called by 18-party alliance.
Police, however, held five Shibir men from the spot.
Witnesses said Shibir men blasted 15 cocktails and torched two human haulers (Leguna) and vandalized two buses at around 9:00am.
When police obstructed the violent activities, the Jamaat-Shibir men locked into clash with them. Later, police fired rubber bullets to disperse the blockade supporters, leaving five injured.
Jatrabari thana officer-in-charge Rafiqul Islam confirmed the matter.
