18-party calls hartal in 4 dists for Wednesday

DHAKA: Opposition BNP-led 18-party alliance on Tuesday called hartal in protest against government actions and killing of opposition men in different districts for Wednesday.

Chapainawabganj 18-party alliance on Tuesday called dawn-to-dusk hartal protesting killing of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal leader Rubel at Kansat upazila.

District 18-patry alliance leaders made the announcement at a press conference.

Besides, 18- Party alliance of Chandpur called dawn-to-dusk hartal protesting the murder of two activists amid clash between police and blockaders.

District 18-party joint convener SM Kamal Uddin along with senior leaders announced the hartal through a press release.

Sirajganj 18-party alliance called daylong hartal for Wednesday protesting the BNP senior Vice-Chairman Tarique Rahman’s exclusion of from voter list and arrests of central leaders.

A press release signed by BNP Chairperson’s advisor and district outfits President Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku confirmed the matter.

Magura district Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) called a half-day hartal in the district for Wednesday protesting arrests of district JCD general secretary along with four activists.

On the other hand, in Bhola, BNP called a half-day hartal in Sadar upazila protesting arrests of party leaders-activists and false cases.    

District BNP President Golam Nabi Alamgir confirmed the matter.
