JP quits all party govt

DHAKA: Jatiya Party (JP) chairman HM Ershad said his party would not participate in the upcoming election if participation of all political parties is not ensured.

He said, “All ministers who are in all party government have been asked to resign. All nomination aspirants who submitted nomination papers were also asked to withdraw nominations.”   

The former president came up with the observation Wednesday at his residence President Park after meeting with visiting Indian Foreign Secretary Sujatha Singh.  

Allude to earlier JP announced to participate in national polls with ruling Awami League. But later it announced not to take part in elections without all political parties.
