5 top BNP leaders seek bail

DHAKA: Top five BNP leaders, including Barrister Moudud Ahmed, filed bail petition with the High Court in two separate cases.

The others BNP leaders are standing committee member MK Anwar, Barrister Rafiqul Islam Mia, BNP Chairperson’s advisor Abdul Awal Mintoo and Special Assistant Advocate Shamsur Rahman Shimul Biswas.

BNP lawyer Barrister AKM Ehsanur Rahman confirmed the matter to banglanews on Thursday.

Earlier on November 28, a Dhaka court sent top five opposition leaders to jail rejecting their bail plea in two separate cases filed with Mothijheel Thana on charge of attacking police and blasting cocktails.

The five leaders were picked up by law enforcers from two separate points of the capital on November 8.
