DHAKA: Opposition BNP and its front organizations called hartal (shutdown) in four districts for Monday to press home their demand of reinstating non-partisan caretaker government and immediate release of the party leaders.
The shutdown will be enforced in Barisal, Barguna, Jhenidah and Munshiganj districts.
Banglanews Barisal correspondent reports that district BNP city Chhatra Dal called dawn-to-dusk hartal in the district to press home their demand.
District BNP President Ebaydul Haque Chan told banglanews that they called the hartal demanding immediate release of district BNP general secretary Abul Kalam Shahin and withdrawal of fake cases filed against party leaders.
Besides, Barguna and Jhenidah general secretaries of district BNP SM Nazrul Islam and Abdul Malek announced the hartal in the districts press conferences.
Apart from this, Munshiganj correspondent reports that the district Jubo Dal president Tarique Kashem Khan Mukul announced a half-day hartal in the district.
