Jamaat urges for peaceful protest

DHAKA: Acting Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Maqbul Ahmed on Thursday urged the countrymen to stage a peaceful protest against the conspiracy of political killing of war crimes convict Quader Mollah.

The Jamaat leader came up with the plea in a statement in the afternoon.

He also called upon the all walks of people of the country to stage a nonviolent and democratic protest against the verdict.

Maqbul also said the judicial process is made question and controversial in the case of Quader Mollah, the senior leader of the party.

He also mentioned about many scandals of the verdict, including Skype, Safe Home and so on which proved that the trial was partial.

The acting chief of the party also said that many representatives of human rights organizations and foreign countries had urged for suspending the execution of Quader Mollah.
