CHITTAGONG: Jamaat-Shibir activists locked into sporadic clashes with law enforcers in Lohagora after Juma prayer on Friday noon.
Officer-in-Charge of Lohagora Thana Mohammad Shahjahan told banglanews that Jamaat-Shibir men blocked few kilometers area of Chittagong-Cox’s Bazar highway putting wood logs.
Police rushed to the spots and tried to pull away the wood logs. At that time, Jamaat-Shibir men locked into chase and counter chase with police and threw brick bats. Police opened blank fire to take the situation under control.
Vehicular movement on the highway became normal few hours later while number of vehicles were fewer.
Jamaat-Shibir men started to run amok from Thursday night after party’s leader Quader Mollah was hanged for war crimes.
