DHAKA: Leaders of ruling Awami League and opposition BNP has exchanged proposals to reach a consensus for holding the 10th parliamentary elections in free, fair and credible manner.
The four-member delegation for both the parties gave the proposal on behalf of their parties and they will sit soon for making strategy in this regard.
After the meeting, Awami League general secretary Syed Ashraful Islam and BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam made the assertion on Thursday evening.
Earlier, they sat in talks at capital’s Gulshan with a view to resolving prevailing political stalemate.
The meeting started at 4:00pm at a house of Gulshan-1 in the city.
The other members of the AL were Amir Hossain Amu and Tofail Ahmed and Gowher Rizvi while BNP leaders were Dr Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, Dr Moyeen Khan and Shamsher Mobin Chowdhury.
