DHAKA: Two Dhaka courts on Wednesday rejected the 20-day remand prayers for interrogating BNP Vice-Chairman Sadek Hossain Khoka in two cases filed with Sutrapur and Paltan Thanas.
Metropolitan magistrates Maruf Hossain and Tarek Moinul Islam Bhuiyan in two Metropolitan courts passed the order in two separate cases of killing people by torching passenger vehicles and rabble-rousing after hearing on the 10-day remand plea in each case by police.
The court also asked the law enforcers to interrogate him at jail gate if necessary by 10-days and denied bail pleas sought by BNP lawyers.
Earlier, lawyers of the former DCC mayor placed a bail plea and police sought 20-day remand for interrogation in the cases.
On December4, Khoka, also the convener of city BNP, was arrested from city’s Uttara area.
On December 5, a Dhaka court granted Khoka on a two-day remand in a case of Shahbagh Thana.
