DHAKA: The 83-hour blockade, called by BNP-led 18-party alliance, is underway across the country for fourth straight day on Tuesday amid stray incidents of violence.
The alliance is observing the blockade demanding cancellation of schedule of 10th general election and restoration of caretaker government system.
In Chittagong, blockaders hurled petrol bombs at a Cow-laden truck and burnt down seven cattle. The arson spread out a nearby furniture shop and soon engulfed adjacent others.
The incident took place at 5:30am in Fauzderhat area under Sitakunda Upazila of the district.
Meanwhile, law enforcers remained alert in key violence-prone areas across the country to avert any subversive act.
The agitation programme started from 6:00am Saturday and will continue till 5:00pm Tuesday.
